A Buttons Nanny is normally a qualified person
(NNEB NVQ3 B.Tech) and has undertaken a formal college
course for 2 years. Placements during this time would include nurseries,
schools, hospitals and with families in their home thus enabling
the student to gain practical experience with children in the 0-7
years age group. Theoretical training covers understanding of emotional,
physical, intellectual and social development. Studies also include
First Aid and special diets. NURSERY DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
- Sole charge of your children in your home
- Creative and Educational Needs-stimulating
your children with artwork, craft, letter and number work
- Arranging the children's social activities
according to ages of children and local activities- Swimming,
children's gym, toddler groups, library, visits and outdoor pursuits
- Planning and organising nutritious meals for
the children
- Looking after the children's bedrooms, play
room and equipment
- Taking care of the children's washing, ironing
and mending
HOURS OF WORK These vary according to the parent's needs but
a full-time Daily Nanny would expect to work a maximum of 10 hours
per day. RATES OF PAY We will be happy to discuss and advise the rates
of pay applicable to your vacancy. These vary according to your
requirements, candidate's qualifications, age and experience. NANNY SHARE An ideal solution for 2 families living in close
proximity provides the luxury of a Nanny, gives your child a playmate

The range is:
Surrey Full time: £300-£425 net per week per 10 hr day
Part time: £70- £95net per day per 10 hr day or £7.00-£9.50 per hour net. Part time rates are higher than full time rates pro rata
London Full time: £350-£450 net per week per 10 hr day
Part time: £80-100net per 10 hr day or £8-£10.00 per hour net. Part time rates are higher than full time rates pro rata

What hours does a Nanny Work? 10 hours a day (or less) generally 8.00am to 6.00pm What if I don't feel my Nanny is settling
into the job? Because of our personal placement matching this
rarely happens. But we do offer a 2 month guarantee policy-if you
or your nanny are not entirely happy then we will find a replacement
free of charge or issue a refund pro rata (see terms of business
for full information). Will my Nanny and children socialise? If you are new to the area, or if your Nanny needs
contacts, we have a "Buttons" nanny circle and can arrange
the introduction of a small number of Nannies with charges of a
similar age to your children. How long will our Nanny stay with us? A permanent Nanny would expect to stay at least
a year. Many are looking for a long a term post and only leave when
they are no longer required i.e. the children start school or their
family's needs change. What about handling the payroll for my Nanny?

Do I need a contract? When you have chosen your nanny you will need
to agree to everything in writing. Apart from being a legal requirement,
this also avoids misunderstandings by either party at a later date.
